Pavers & Tile

Pavers and tile are two different terms, but can sometimes refer to the same thing. This can potentially cause confusion, but we're here to clear the air!. Typically, tile is used for indoor flooring while pavers are used for outdoor applications. The reason why "tile" and "pavers" are terms used interchangeably is because tile can also used for outdoor applications.

Tile is usually shaped more precisely, smoother, and larger in surface area yet thinner than pavers. They can be made of porcelain, slate, travertine, marble, or ceramic.

Pavers are more rugged in design and feel, and are thicker than tile. They are commonly set on several inches of road base and sand, while tile is laid on a layer of concrete and/ or cement. Pavers can be comprised of brick, stone, or concrete.
